Customer Master Data Associate – Contract Role

About the Role

We are looking for a Customer Master Data Associate to support the accurate and timely creation, maintenance, validation, and governance of customer master data across SAP and other enterprise systems.

The role will primarily focus on customer account creation and maintenance, customer-specific material listing and delisting, account blocking and deactivation, data quality checks, and adherence to established master data governance standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to SAP, customer master data processes, data validation, and data governance, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform customer master data creation, maintenance, validation, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Create and extend customer accounts in SAP, including Sold-to, Ship-to, Bill-to, and Payer partner functions, as applicable.
• Maintain existing customer accounts by processing approved changes to:
• Customer names and addresses
• Contact information
• Partner relationships
• Sales-area data
• Shipping information
• Billing attributes
• Other relevant master data fields
• Process customer-specific material/product listing, delisting, exclusion, and status-change requests based on approved business requirements.
• Block, deactivate, merge, or mark customer accounts as obsolete in accordance with established business rules, approvals, and data-retention policies.
• Review master data requests for completeness, accuracy, supporting documentation, approvals, and required data fields before processing.
• Perform duplicate checks and validate customer information against existing records to prevent duplicate account creation.
• Analyze data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process and data-quality improvement.
• Support data migration and integration activities as required.
• Provide support to business users, partners, and other stakeholders on master data processes, tools, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business, IT, operations, and other cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues.
• Support data governance, compliance, and key performance monitoring activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in SAP, Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Operations, or a related area.
• Experience working with customer master data in an enterprise/SAP environment.
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or supply chain environments is preferred.

• Understanding of Master Data Management principles, processes, and governance.
• Ability to validate business requests, supporting documentation, approvals, and required data fields.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Basic understanding of data governance and data-quality practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
