Head of Production

Function: Operations | Location: NCR (with travel to Himachal and future sites)

A fast-growing clean tech company is building world-class energy systems and expanding manufacturing capabilities. We are looking for a Head of Production to lead current operations and set up a new plant from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day manufacturing at the current facility, including production planning, material flow, workforce deployment, and quality assurance.
• Lead the setup of a new greenfield manufacturing plant – from factory design and capex planning to vendor onboarding and SOP implementation.
• Build and manage SMT and through-hole PCB assembly lines; implement advanced testing and inspection processes.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices on the shop floor.
• Define and track plant KPIs: throughput, cost, quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Set up inbound, in-process, and outbound quality control systems and scalable product testing infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain – to support NPI and production scale-up.
• Build and lead a high-performance production team; identify skill gaps and implement technical training programs.
• Foster a culture of ownership, quality, safety, and operational excellence.
• Identify and onboard EMS partners for overflow or specialized production needs.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from a Tier-1/Tier-2 institute.
• 12–20 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in power electronics, energy equipment, or industrial systems.
• Proven track record in greenfield or brownfield plant setup and scaling operations.
• At least 3 years of experience in electronic PCB assembly and testing.
• Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, quality systems, and process optimization.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and cross-functional execution.
• Experience working with vendors and partners across multiple locations.
