Senior Manager โ€“ Category (IT Hardware)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to drive the growth, profitability, and overall performance of the IT Hardware category. The role requires ownership of category strategy, P&L management, vendor partnerships, assortment planning, and business expansion initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with analytical thinking to identify growth opportunities and maximize category performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the overall financial and operational performance of the category.
  • Manage category P&L, revenue, margins, and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute category growth strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and onboard new product categories to expand the assortment portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with brands, OEMs, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations related to pricing, margins, promotions, and business terms.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new category launches.
  • Monitor and analyze key business metrics including GMV, sales growth, margins, and marketing ROI.
  • Optimize assortment planning, catalog management, and pricing strategies.
  • Drive month-on-month revenue growth while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Explore and execute private-label opportunities within relevant product categories.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to improve category performance.
  • Generate additional revenue opportunities through brand collaborations and advertising initiatives.

Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years of Category Management experience.
  • Strong experience managing IT Hardware categories such as laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, networking products, or enterprise hardware.
  • Prior experience in B2B commerce, e-commerce, online marketplaces, or technology distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience in category expansion, vendor management, and business growth initiatives.
  • Proven track record of owning and managing category P&L.

Education

  • B.E./B.Tech required.
  • MBA preferred.
