Job Description – Operations Head (0-to-1 Logistics & Dark Store Operations)

About the Role

We are building a fast-growing, technology-driven commerce business and are looking for an entrepreneurial Operations Head to lead the design and execution of our logistics network from the ground up.

This is a high-impact, founder-facing role where you will build the first dark-store operations, establish scalable logistics processes, optimize unit economics, and create the operating playbook for expansion into multiple cities. If you enjoy solving complex operational challenges in a zero-to-one environment, this role offers the opportunity to shape the foundation of a rapidly scaling business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end setup of dark-store operations from inception to launch.
• Design and implement logistics processes covering warehousing, inventory movement, fulfilment, and last-mile delivery.
• Build scalable operating procedures (SOPs) and execution frameworks that can be replicated across new locations.
• Own key operational metrics including cost-per-order, fulfilment efficiency, SLA adherence, inventory accuracy, and customer experience.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs while improving service levels.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions to improve productivity.
• Work closely with founders and cross-functional teams to establish operational priorities and execution plans.
• Build and mentor operations teams while maintaining a hands-on approach during the early growth phase.
• Develop expansion playbooks that enable rapid launch of new fulfilment centres and cities.
• Ensure operational excellence through strong process governance, performance tracking, and execution discipline.

What We're Looking For

• 4–10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, fulfilment, or operations.
• Proven experience building logistics or dark-store operations from 0 to 1 rather than managing an already established network.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, fulfilment, last-mile delivery, inventory management, and logistics planning.
• Demonstrated ownership of operational metrics such as cost-per-order, fulfilment cost, productivity, and service levels.
• Experience creating scalable operating processes and implementing them across multiple locations.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, founder-led startup environments with high ownership and ambiguity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Background

• Experience in quick commerce, hyperlocal delivery, e-commerce logistics, or other high-velocity fulfilment businesses.
• Exposure to launching new cities, fulfilment centres, or dark stores.
• Experience working directly with founders or senior leadership teams.
• Track record of improving unit economics through operational excellence.
