Senior Manager - Legal

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Manager – Legal to manage commercial legal matters, litigation, regulatory requirements, compliance risk and stakeholder management in a fast-paced financial services environment.

The role requires strong drafting and negotiation skills, sound understanding of commercial and corporate laws, and the ability to independently manage high-value transactions and legal disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts and legal documents across business and internal functions.
• Provide legal advice to stakeholders on contractual, commercial and regulatory risks and recommend appropriate action.
• Independently manage litigation matters, including High Court, District Court and arbitration proceedings.
• Coordinate with and manage external legal counsel on ongoing litigation and disputes.
• Handle interactions and negotiations with regulators, public authorities, police officers, external counsel and other external stakeholders.
• Support legal due diligence, compliance risk assessments and incident management.
• Develop and implement risk-mitigation strategies in collaboration with business and functional teams.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across Business, Finance, HR and leadership on legal and compliance matters.
• Ensure legal requirements are appropriately interpreted and translated into practical business actions.

Candidate Requirements

• LLB from a reputed university.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a fast-paced organisation.
• Strong hands-on experience in drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
• Experience handling corporate governance and compliance matters.
• Ability to interpret legal provisions and apply them to practical business situations.
• Strong communication, drafting and documentation skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Someone who is hands-on rather than purely advisory, with a combination of commercial legal + litigation + regulatory/compliance exposure. Experience in NBFC, fintech lending, supply-chain finance or broader BFSI would be relevant. The internal working draft specifically highlights the need to assess both commercial negotiation and hands-on litigation capability.
